Over 100 small and medium scale business entrepreneurs have benefitted from the Federal Government Agricultural Medium Enterprises Investment Scheme (AGSMEIS) loan in Ondo state.
The State coordinator of SMEDAN, Mr Ayedun Abiodun made this known in a telephone conversation with The Hope in Akure, the Ondo state capital.
He said about 50 people had benefitted from the First batch and another 50 in the second batch which was being disbursed.
Abiodun said the highest beneficiary got N9.7million while the lowest got N2 million adding that the programme is still ongoing.
According to him, more people will still benefit, saying those who had perfected their documentation would still be considered.
Abiodun who disclosed that government has another window opportunity of loan for COVID-19 said a collateral is needed for assessment of the new loan which is to a tune of N50 million.
He also noted that the COVID-19 loan was aimed at assisting industries who might have been affected with the present pandemic so that they could revive their businesses.
He urged people to take advantage of the AGSMEIS loan to start their businesses or to keep up in the business.
“It is not a scam. People are assessing the loan now. Once you have a well package plan and applied you will surely get the loan”, he said.
