100 Days: Ondo APC chiefs laud Aiyedatiwa, cite groundbreaking achievements

By Fisayo Akinduro & Olamiotan Afolabi

Notable figures in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State have showered encomiums on the administration of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa as he marks his first 100 days in office, describing his leadership as impactful and achievement-laden.

Prominent among those who highlighted the improvements Aiyedatiwa has brought to governance are the immediate past Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Amidu Takuro; a chieftain of the APC, Hon. Oluwaseyi Gabriel Ogundare, fondly known as Hon. OGO; and a leading figure for the party in Akure North/South Federal Constituency, Hon. Tomisin Edu Falade.

Takuro, who lauded Aiyedatiwa for his giant strides within a short period, stated.

“I wholeheartedly celebrate and commend His Excellency, Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, on the occasion of his first 100 days in office.

“It is with great pride and admiration that I acknowledge the remarkable strides he has made in steering the affairs of Ondo State towards meaningful progress and sustainable development.”

He stressed that within this short period, Governor Aiyedatiwa has demonstrated purposeful leadership and an unwavering commitment to the welfare of the people.

“One of the most commendable achievements is the employment of over 2,000 teachers in both primary and secondary schools.

“This bold step not only enhances the standard of education in the state but also addresses unemployment by providing jobs for many of our youths.

“The construction and renovation of schools are also a testament to the governor’s effort in making learning convenient and attractive for learners.

“I am also deeply impressed by the reconstruction and rehabilitation of over 60 kilometers of roads across various parts of the state. This effort is already making transportation easier for our citizens and improving access to economic and social opportunities.

“In the health sector, the governor’s intervention in upgrading 102 health centres is highly commendable.

“Also, in the agricultural sector, the support provided for farmers is another clear sign of Governor Aiyedatiwa’s vision for food security, availability, and rural development.

“Furthermore, I must applaud his administration’s resolve to revive and complete several abandoned projects left behind by previous governments. Equally praiseworthy is the payment of 82.6 percent of the state’s debt, which has gone a long way in stabilizing our financial system and restoring confidence in the state’s economy,” Takuro said.

in his appraisal, Ogundare, popularly known as Hon. OGO, praised Aiyedatiwa for what he described as a remarkable turnaround in the state within his first 100 days in office.

Ogundare, a grassroots political leader in the Owo/Ose Federal Constituency, in a statement issued to mark the milestone, applauded the governor for injecting renewed energy and purposeful direction into governance since assuming office.

He noted that Governor Aiyedatiwa’s administration had hit the ground running by addressing infrastructural deficits across the state, with physical evidence of road projects, hospital renovations, and school upgrades already springing up.

“From Akure to Owo, Ilaje to Ifedore, we are beginning to witness development projects taking shape. Road construction, health facilities’ rehabilitation, and improvements in our schools are no longer mere promises but realities,” he said.

The APC stalwart commended the governor’s people-oriented leadership, describing it as inclusive and responsive to the needs of the citizens.

He highlighted the prompt payment of workers’ salaries, youth empowerment schemes, and targeted relief for the vulnerable as commendable moves that have earned the administration early applause.

According to him, “What Governor Aiyedatiwa has achieved in just 100 days is a bold declaration of his capacity and readiness to lead Ondo State into a new phase of sustainable development.”

Ogundare, a known loyalist of the Aiyedatiwa-led administration, described the governor’s leadership as visionary, compassionate, and pragmatic.

He called on the people of the state to throw their weight behind the administration as it builds the blocks of progress.

“The governor is not just building infrastructure; he is rebuilding trust and rekindling hope in governance. We are proud of his accomplishments so far, and we are confident that the best is yet to come,” he said.

Also speaking, party chieftain, Falade described Aiyedatiwa as a rare breed in Nigeria’s political class— a workaholic who is realistic in his approach to governance.

“I admire the style of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa because he faces the brutal facts in pursuit of realistic goals that will benefit the people, especially the less- privileged.

“He has clearly demonstrated, through his ‘Our Ease Agenda,’ which took off 100 days ago, that no part of Ondo State is forgotten or marginalised in terms of development programmes.

“Be it road networks, rural electrification, education, health, agriculture, or urban renewal, the governor has touched all with the panache of a sure-footed goal-getter; he has touched lives with great positive impacts.

“His welfare programmes for public workers, children, students, entrepreneurs, and the vulnerable are without comparison.

“Assuredly, he has justified the mandate given to him by majority voters in the 18 local government areas of the state, in what has now been known as 18–0 Promax,” Edu Falade enthused.
