1,000 Osun Amotekun recruits begin training Monday

No fewer than 1,000 successful applicants for the Osun Amotekun Corps will commence their three-week intensive training on Monday, March 10, 2025, following a rigorous selection process.
A statement by the Public Relations Officer of the Corps, Mr. Yusuf Idowu Abass, revealed that the training will take place at the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Orientation Camp in Ede, Osun State.
Abass disclosed that the recruits were carefully screened through multiple stages to ensure that only the most qualified individuals were selected to join the security outfit.
“The successful candidates are expected to report at the NYSC Orientation Camp in Ede by 7:00 AM on Monday, March 10, 2025, for registration and documentation.
“Following this, they will be assigned their accommodation before the commencement of training sessions,” he stated.
He further explained that the training would cover both theoretical and practical aspects, focusing on key areas of community policing and security operations.
Similarly, the Corps Commander of Osun Amotekun, Dr. Adekunle Isaac Omoyele, affirmed that the selection process was strictly based on merit, stressing that only the best candidates were chosen.
He charged the recruits to display resilience, unity, and discipline throughout the training period while urging them to uphold the integrity of the Osun Amotekun Corps.
Dr. Omoyele reassured residents of Osun State that their security remains a top priority, adding that the newly recruited personnel would be equipped with the necessary skills to enhance safety in the state.
Also speaking, the Chairman of the Osun Amotekun Corps Board, AIG Wale Abbas (retd.), confirmed that the trainees would undergo comprehensive instruction under the guidance of seasoned security experts, including retired personnel from the Police, DSS, Army, and other security agencies.
The commencement of this training marks a crucial step in bolstering Osun State’s security framework, reinforcing the commitment of the Amotekun Corps to safeguarding lives and property.
