18-year old apprentice impregnates 10 girls in five months

An 18-year-old apprentice has allegedly impregnated 10 girls within five months, including his master’s daughter and a salesgirl, in Anambra State.

It was gathered that the teenager was initially sent to learn a trade under a master, but within three months, he had already impregnated both his boss’s daughter and a salesgirl, a development that led to his dismissal.

The Commissioner for Women and Social Welfare in the state, Ify Obinabo, made the revelation during a live broadcast on social media on Wednesday.

Obinabo explained that the situation worsened after the apprentice returned to his village.

She said, “I want advice from the public because this case is beyond my capacity.

“This boy was sent to learn a trade at the age of 18, and within three months of apprenticeship, he impregnated his master’s daughter and the salesgirl. He was sent packing. Two months later, he went on to impregnate eight other girls in his village.”

The commissioner further disclosed that the boy’s mother visited her office to lodge a complaint.

According to her, the distraught mother said, “Anytime I see a girl coming towards our house nowadays, my heart jumps. Please, I need help.”

Obinabo added, “This matter is beyond me. That’s why I’m calling on the public to help proffer a solution. Could it be spiritual?

“I asked the boy what kind of magic he uses to lure the girls to bed, and he told me he simply tells them that he loves them and would marry them once he becomes wealthy.

“This case is disturbing, not just because of the boy’s age but also because of the number of girls already pregnant. That’s why I’m seeking help.”

While Obinabo did not disclose the identities of the boy, his mother, or their community, she appealed to members of the public to suggest possible solutions to the matter.
