2 bag three months imprisonment for burglary, theft

Two persons; Raphael Olabinjo and Tope Sunday were on Tuesday sentenced to three months imprisonment by an Akure Magistrates’ Court, for stealing, burglary and destruction of property.

The convicts committed the offence on April 29, 2024 at about 3:00pm at Eyinke ljamikin, in Akure metropolis.

The state prosecuting counsel, O.F. Akeredolu, earlier told the court that the convicts broke into the shop of one lgwe Friday, and stole three bottles of Schnapp valued at N9,800, MP( music players) valued at N9,800 and cash sum of N53,000, belonging to lgwe Friday without his consent.

The defendants also willfully and unlawfully destroyed solar energy system valued at N75,000, property of one Obasi Sunday.

According to the prosecution, the offence contravened Sections 383, 390 410, 412 , and 451 of the Criminal Code Cap 37 Vol. 1, Laws of Ondo State of Nigeria, 2006.

They pleaded guilty to the charge leveled against them.

Following their guilty pleas, the prosecutor urged the court to sentence them accordingly, considering the facts of the case.

The Magistrate, T.l. Ayodele-James sentenced the convicts to 3 months imprisonment with no option of fine.
