2 industries take off in Ore industrial hub, others ready soon

In fulfillment of his avowed commitment to industrialise the state, Ondo state governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, has disclosed that two of the over five industries at the Ore industrial hub have begun operation.

He also said the remaining others industries which are only waiting to be connected to the national grid would begin operation in no distant time.

According to the governor, the two industries which have already taken off included the textile industry and the only MBS (Plywood factory) in Nigeria.

The governor noted that the industries have employed several youths in the state.

 Akeredolu made the revelation at the 2019 May Day celebration held at Gani Fawehinmi Freedom Arcade, Akure, the Ondo state capital.

He equally averred that the Cassava to Ethanol Industry is almost ready; saying that what is holding it on is the energy from Omotosho, ditto the other industries there, including the Paper Mill which is also waiting light to take off.

The governor asserted that Ondo State should be proud of the good and outstanding development which would drastically reduce unemployment rate in the state.

Akeredolu who reiterated his administration’s unwavering commitment to industrialise the state, also stressed that all the giant strides of his government would make the state investors’ destination and tourists’ haven.

While saying that the essence of Workers’ Day is for taking stock of their collective inputs, the governor added that his government was grateful to workers for their cooperation since his administration assumed office.

He noted that when his government came on board the average revenue the state was generating was less than N700m per month, but the story has changed for better now under the his administration as the revenue generation has improved to above N1.5bn monthly, and “we are still moving.

He attributed the tremendous improvement on the committed efforts of workers, noting that the state Board of Internal Revenue should be commended for the laudable feat.

The governor also stated that several of unemployed youths have just been employed in the Board of Internal Revenue to further improve the IGR of the state.

He further disclosed that car and housing loans have been granted to the state workers, saying same gesture would be extended to primary school teachers in the state to better their lives.

He assured that government would continue concentrating on the improvement of infrastructures in all sectors across the nooks and crannies of the state.
