2019: Cleric advises youths to shun violence

The Chief Imam of Ondo kingdom, Alhaji Bashir Alimi, has enjoined youths in the state to shun violence and any act capable of jeopardising the peace of the nation in the coming elections.
He called on the youth to emulate the virtues of the Prophet Mohammed towards peace and progress at all time.
The cleric, who stated this in an interview with The Hope explained that Prophet Mohammed exercised quality character that deserved emulation.
His words “I will advise youths to emulate his patience, honesty, dedication and perseverance as well as love the he showed towards everyone during his life time.”
He however, challenged them to emulate and sustain this kind gesture and fulfill their religious obligations and spiritual undertakings.
Alimi urged them to always preach peace and live in peaceful coexistence for the state and the country at large to better for it.
He enjoined the people of the state and the country in general to embrace love, tolerance and mutual respect in their interactions.
