Ahead of 2019 general elections, the electorate have been advised to critically look into plans and intentions of politicians before giving their mandate to them.

The founder of the Hour of Mercy Prayer Ministry, worldwide (Ori Oke Alaseyori), Ibadan, Oyo State, Prophet Moses Muyideen Kasali, who gave the advice lamented that some are into the politics for their selfish interests.

The renowned blind cleric urged Nigerians not to allow themselves to be bought by money bag politicians who are only after their personal pocket  in the forthcoming polls.

Prophet Kasali who said selfishness remained largely the bane of Nigerian politics, said it was high time politicians, began to inculcate the spirit of selflessness and patriotism and learn how to offer services to the country.

According to him, “there is need to kill in its entirety, the growing trend of vote-buying in the country. Vote-buying is synonymous with selling the development of the country, stagnating provision of infrastructures and discouraging better lives for the citizenry.

“Nigerians should be wise and see the forthcoming elections as opportunity to restore the country to the path of progress and development by voting right and ensuring candidates with genuine intentions for the growth and sustenance of the country are the ones that get to positions of authority.

“It is also imperative that Nigerians return to the path of righteousness, seek the mind of God and shun all divisive and corrupt tendencies for God to direct the affairs of the country,” the blind cleric said.
