2019 NYS Festival: Ondo inaugurates committee

In a bid to have a better performance at the upcoming under 17 National Youths Sports Festival and national sports festival to be staged in Kwara and Edo state respectively.
To this end, Ondo State Sports Council as part of its preparation for the competitions has inaugurated a six man committee to start a football clinic for secondary schools in the state.
Inaugurating the committee at the board room of the state sports complex, General Manager of the Sports Council, Mr. Wande Fabuluje said early preparation will help the council to produce a formidable team especially in football.
Fabuluje added that the school holiday period will be used to engage boys and girls between the age of 10 and 15 .
He noted further that the major aim of the committee was to discover talents, develop players, equip and expose the raw talents.
The committee members are: Mr Sunday Fagite (Chairman), Mr. Akinfesoye Tolulope, (Secretary), Alhaji Tijani Ibrahim, (Member), Mr Salami Ayodeji, (Member), Mrs Nike Sanni , (Member), and Mr. Isaac Afolabi, (Member).
In his acceptance speech, the Committee Chairman, appreciated the opportunity and promised to input all technical abilities towards achieving success at the programme.
Also, a member of the committee and the Chairman Ondo State Coaches Association, Alhaji Ibrahim Tijani advocates support from stakeholders, stressing that early preparation and monitoring of the discovered players will give Ondo state an edge in any football competition.
The clinic which would hold at the Ondo State Sports Complex will start on Monday, April 15, 2019 with morning and evening sessions.
