2019: Ondo CP assures of neutrality

As the 2019 general elections draw closer, the Ondo State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Gbenga Adeyanju has assured people of the state of  police neutrality towards credible elections.

The Commissioner of police, who gave the assurance at a stakeholders forum in Akure said it is the responsibility of the Nigeria Police to be neutral at the point of their duties.

He explained that the men of the force are not members of any political party and would not engage in any act that will contravene the constitution of the country guiding police before, during and after an election.

His words:” It is our responsibility to be neutral, we do not belong to any political party, our party is the Nigeria Police Force. (NPF)

“It is our duty to respect and protect all Nigerians and the political parties in the country as our essential roles”

The police boss allayed fear among Nigerians assuring that there is no cause to fear as free and fair polls would be held come next year.

He said “This is not the first time of conducting elections. We have done it before. We are doing it now and we are going to do it again.

“Now that the world is in global village and there is no secret can be hide. This is enough assurance for Nigerians to have trust in police readiness to ensure acceptable elections in 2019.”
