The chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State, Engr. Clement Faboyede, has told the members of the party in the state to work assiduously for the victory of the party in 2019 general elections, adding that Ondo must be among the states to contribute to the victory of the party in the election.

He said there is no better time to be in the PDP than now that the oppositions are defecting into  the party.

Faboyede stated this while presenting the notification of interest and requirement forms to the Director-General of Jonathan Campaign Organisation in the state in 2015 general elections, Mr. Adetokunbo Modupe, who showed his expression of interest to contest for the North senatorial seat in the National Assembly.

He urged  members of the party, to have strong belief in the victory of the party in the next year elections, charging them not to be deceived by the opposition and maintain their memberships with the PDP.

He noted that the defection from the opposition which consist of the number three and four citizens of the country into the PDP, is an indication that the party will coast to victory in the election.

While charging youths to be sincere and work for the victory of the party, the chairman enjoined them to take cue from elders in politics who are in politics with sincerity and the joy of it to contribute to the democratic system in the country.

“Senators, members of the House of Representatives and governors have defected to the PDP and they are still defecting. Ondo state must be counted among the states to work for the victory of the PDP in the election.” he said.

Recounting the calibre of aspirants who have shown their expression of interests to contest for various political offices under the platform of the party, Faboyede said the aspirants are politicians of good records and serious minded people to work for the interest of people.

The chairman, who expressed optimism in the ambition of Modupe to give back to people when eventually triumph in the election said by all standard he has been blessed by God and has what it takes to represent the senatorial district at the senate.

He reiterated his advice ti the delegates of the party, not to see the primaries of the party as a means of enriching themselves, charging them to use the opportunity given to them by the party to ensure capable candidates emerge for the election.
