Traditional rulers in Osun State have implored Nigerians to be peaceful and eschew violence as the general elections are fast approaching.

The royal fathers of Osun Central and Osun West Senatorial Districts gave the advice at the quarterly Osun divisional conference of Obas held at the palace of the Alayegun of Ode-Omu.

The communiqué issued at the end of the meeting was signed by the Chairman, Orangun of Ila, Oba Abdulwahab Oyedotun and Secretary General of the conference,  Aragbiji of Iragbiji, Oba AbdulRasheed Olabomi underscored the issue of security of lives and property as the critical need of the people of the state.

It called on the government to reinvent security architecture in the state, put traditional rulers in the scheme and adopt policy of prevention.

“We should be involved about the security of our people to ensure proper implementation of these policies”

The communiqué added that security operatives should be motivated to do more of intelligence and preventing collusion.

“There’s need for police to be motivated to enhance their performance most especially during this election period”

The traditional rulers appealed to the state government to give more attention to the welfare of traditional rulers.
