Ahead of the 2019 general elections, The Peoples Democratic Movement (PDM), Ondo State Chapter has said that it did not field  candidate for any political offices in the state, saying that this is because the party cannot pick candidate that cannot win an election.

The State Chairman of the party, Mr. Oluwole Fagboro, who disclosed this in a telephone interview with The Hope yesterday said the party in other states particularly in the northern part of the country fielded candidates for various political posts in the next year elections.

He said the party had Pastor Aninchi Habu as its presidential candidate.

“Members cannot be forced to obtain nomination forms for political offices and will contest for position we can win.” he explained

When asked on the move by the PDM to support one of the major parties in 2019, Fagboro, said it was a rumour that the party is making such move.

“As a state chairman, our party believes in internal democracy and it is only the majority in the party can take such decision. As it is now, we don’t have such agreement. ” he said

The chairman also informed that the party is busy sensitizing its members and electorate on the need to collect their Permanent Voter’s Cards (PVCs) as their power to exercise their franchises in the coming elections.

“There frequent meetings and sensitization on the need for members and voters to collect their voter’s cards for the next year elections. We are preparing for our electioneering campaign.” Fagboro stressed
