2020/21NPFL season: LMC moves Sunshine Stars to Edo/Lagos

As 2020/2021 Nigeria professional football league (NPFL) gets December 6 date, the League Management Company (LMC) has moved Sunshine Stars Football Club home matches to Benin, Edo or Teslim Balogun Stadium Lagos, according to the new fixtures it released.
According to the new fixtures, Sunshine Stars will play their first match away to Jigawa Golden Stars, at Katsina Stadium, while their match day two encounter which supposed to be played at Ondo State Sports Complex, would now be played at either Benin,Edo nor Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos.
Other Clubs affected with this development are; Jigawa Golden Stars FC, FC Ifeanyi Uba, Nasarawa United FC, Abia Warrior FC, Rangers International FC and Warri Wolves .
The Changes in Ondo State owned home matches and few others may not be unconnected to their inability to put their stadia in good shape ahead of the new season.
Recalled, that LMC had penultimate weeks approved 13 stadia for the 2020/21 season.
According to LMC, final round of matches will be held on Sunday July 4, 2021.
While reacting to the development, Sunshine Stars President, Otunba Tajudeen Akinyemi is optimistic that LMC will return them back to Ondo State Sports Complex before the start of the season.
According to him, we are going to upgrade the facilities at the Sports Complex to meet up with the LMC standard, the renovation of the Floodlight, Scoreboard, and the dressing room will be completed in the next two weeks.
