2020 guber: Ondo parties in mobilization drive to win governorship poll’

Ahead of 2020 governorship election in Ondo State, various political parties in the state have commenced rigorous grassroots mobilization across the state to win the next year poll.
They added that all efforts were being taken to present credible candidates among their aspirants to be the flag bearers of their various parties in the election.
The political parties which include Action Democratic Party (ADP), People for Democratic Change (PDC) and Progressive Peoples Alliance (PPA) spoke with The Hope in separate interviews.
The State Chairman of ADP, Mr. Adegbuyi Adesida said the party is currently undergoing rigorous grassroots mobilization across the state just as he stated that the feedbacks and results were not only encouraging but exhilarating which indicated ADP is the party to beat come 2020.
According to him, ” We are still accepting applications from interested aspirants in accordance with ADP constitution. The eventual candidates will be revealed to the press and general public after closing of acceptance form.
“According to the ADP manifesto and constitution, the candidate that emerges must follow our creed of party supremacy, agree to comply with the percentile recommended for youths participation in his/her administration, women participation and the involvement of People With Disability as stipulated by ADP must be adhered to as spelt out”.
He said the ADP is an all inclusive party which its eventual candidate must be made aware to agree with these stipulations before receiving the party’s mantra.
As the party chairman, Adesida assured to discharge his role to stress unification of all Ondo State indigenes with the eventual candidate of the party.
On the party’s agenda, Adesida said
job creation, security of lives and property along with the state borders will be of utmost importance to the party without prejudice.
He noted that it is also of paramount that the party’s candidate must not saddle the State with uncompleted projects during his or her administration.
The chairman who assured that the candidate of the party must lead as a unifier and not pitch people against one another interest of the state and its people must also be a priority to the candidate.
On his part , the State Chairman of People for Democrat Change (PDC), Mr. Lawrence Oyebamiji explained that a lot of underground work were ongoing, ahead of the election
The effort of the party, he said has started yielding positive results as some bigwigs were contacting the party to be the party’s flag bearer in the 2020 governorship election.
According to him, “As far as 2020 election is concern things are getting set in PDC. A lot of underground work are ongoing.
” Almost three months now we are cultivating both new and old members into the party. Then some bigwigs are contacting us to flag the party mantle come 2020. ”
Oyebamiji disclosed that If PDC eventually emerged as a winner in the poll , saying that road network to the villages would be its priority so as to make farm roads accessible for farmers to transport their farm products to urban town.
He added that agriculture , education and health sectors will boosted and take to the greater height.
Also, the State Chairman of the Progressive People Alliance, Mr. Alamuren Ogunbodede, said the party is actively prepared for the election with its manifesto to be followed to latter .
He listed agriculture, empowerment of women and youths, education and health sectors and regular payment of salary among others that will given priority if the party emerged as the next governor of the state.
