By Femi Atolagbe & Bamidele Kolawole

Chairman, Nasarawa United FC, Mr. Isaac Danladi, has expressed satisfaction with his team’s pre-season performance in Abuja.
Danladi disclosed this while addressing the players at the FIFA Goal Project field, MKO Abiola National Stadium, in the aftermath of the team’s 3-0 humiliation of Fosla Academy in the team’s last Group ‘A’ match at the ongoing Abuja Unity Cup Preseason Tournament.
In his words, “From what I have heard and seen so far, I am really impressed with the preparation for the season.
“Before we came to Abuja, I said the essence of participating in this Tournament was not all about winning the trophy but to see how we can fine-tune our team, particularly the new recruits, ahead of the new league season.
“We decided to come with 51 players in order to give everyone the opportunity to showcase their talents.
“Nasarawa United is a big and united family. We don’t discriminate – whether against home or outside players; We treat everyone equally.
“So, on behalf of the Management of the Club and Government of Nasarawa State, I wish to congratulate you for demonstrating maturity, discipline, and for the wonderful performance you have been displaying here. Kindly keep up such attributes.
“Unfortunately, however, at the end of the day, we can only register the best 35 or 40 players for the league season. So, always ensure you give your best to justify your selection by the coaching staff”, he concluded.
Nasarawa United became the first team to qualify for the Semi-finals of the twelve teams Abuja Unity Cup Preseason Tournament after coming top in their group with seven points from three games.
