2023: Fayemi’s wife solicits more political offices for women

The wife of Ekiti State Governor, Mrs Bisi Fayemi, has solicited for more political offices for women folk.

The Ekiti First Lady said the move would further enhance balancing and correct what she called anomalist in the political sphere of the country.

Mrs Fayemi spoke in Ijero-Ekiti at the weekend during a meeting of the constituents comprises of Ijero/Ekiti to West/Efon Federal Constituencies have endorsed the  incumbent occupant of the federal legislative seat, Mr.Omowumi Ogunlola for second term.

Those present at the occasion include traditional rulers, youths, market women, elders and artisans endorsed Ogunlola for re-election on Sunday in Ijero during the third editions of her empowerment programmes.

Mrs Fayemi, who commended Ogunlola for her outstanding performance, noted that representation at the lower chamber has been superb in delivering the dividends of democracy to his constituency.

She stated that Ogunlola had displayed exceptional qualities of leadership with his effective representation and super- sonic empowerment programmes for the women, widows, men and youths within his constituency.

She added that the commendations from the people and mammoth crowd seen at the event further affirms the satisfaction and confidence the constituents have in Ogunlola’s leadership style.

“I must appreciate her for being a worthy ambassador of the womenfolks in political positions. Indeed, you have done well and I am very proud of you. We will keep saying we want women in position of leadership, Hon. Ogunlola is a perfect example of what we meant” she said.

The APC State Chairman, Paul Omotoso expressed pride in the quality of effective representation she has been offering her constituents, adding that these could be attested to through the implementation of people-oriented programmes.

Omotoso, said Ogunlola, beyond fulfilling his statutory expectation as a lawmaker, has put enduring smiles on the faces of constituents regardless of their political affinities through enactment of people-centric policies, modern skill-acquisition training and empowerment schemes.

Similarly, speaking on behalf of the all traditional rulers, the Owa Ajero of Ijero-Ekiti, Oba Joseph Adewole, said Ogunlola deserves another term on account of her sterling and unprecedented achievements.

He noted that the traditional rulers were rooting for her re-election into the green chamber for continuity because she has changed the face of representation in the federal constituency with masses savouring the dividends of democracy.

In her remark, Ogunlola said that he was committed to enhance the well-being of members of his constituency, promising to facilitate more developmental projects that will have direct impacts in the lives of the people.
