2023 polls: Ondo APC records landslide victory

Ondo State is back in the saddle of progressive politics as the candidates of the All Progressives Congress, APC, won in last Saturday polls.

While the party delivered the victory for its presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu,  one senator and two others leading with wide margin in the remaining two Senatorial seats, won eight of nine federal constituencies seats allotted to the State

Before the election, APC had one senatorial slot and seven federal constituencies

The All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential candidate won election in 13 out of the 18 council areas’ results so far announced by the INEC in Ondo State,as at the time of going to bed.

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, however won the remaining seat of the lower chamber

Result for central announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC declared Adeniyi Adegbonmire, SAN, winner with 103,871 vote to defeat Basorun Ifedayo Adedipe, SAN of the PDP who scored 74,702 votes while Dr.Jimoh Ibrahim, South,  and Jide Ipinsagba for North, were leading with wide margin

Reps seats were won by Bunmi Tunji-Ojo, Akoko North East/West, Otunba Gboyega Adefarati, Akoko South West/East, Temehin Adelegbe, Owo/Ose, Derin Adesida, Akure North/South, Abiola Makinde, Ondo East/West

Others are: Festus Adefiranye, Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo/Odigbo, Jimi Odimayo, Irele/Okitipupa and Donald Ojogo, Ilaje/Ese-Odo declared winners by the electoral umpire

Jimi Odimayo, Donald Ojogo APC of Irele/Okitipupa and Ilaje/Ese-Odo defeated sitting lawmaker, Gbenga Ikengbolu and Kolade Akinjo, Festus Akingbaso, PDP Idanre/Ifedore defeated Tajudeen Adefisoye of APC

According to INEC, Bunmi Tunji-Ojo scored 51532 votes to defeat PDP with 9014 votes, Gboyega Adefarati scored 25,874 to defeat PDP with 18,405, Jimi Odimayo scored 70,758 to defeat PDP with 35,539, Abiola Makinde scored 38,491 to defeat PDP with 15,302

Festus Adefiranye scored 36,147 to defeat PDP with 19,168, Donald Ojogo scored 26,302 votes to defeat PDP with 22,390 votes, Derin Adesida scored 45,030 votes to defeat PDP with 33,789 votes.

Meanwhile, Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is leading in Ondo State

Tinubu according to results gathered from INEC by The Hope is leading the candidates of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Abubakar Atiku and Labour Party, Peter Obi

The All Progressives Congress, APC, candidate won the Saturday election in 13 out of the 18 council areas’ results so far announced by the INEC.

Ondo State Returning Officer and the Vice Chancellor, Federal University, Oye-Ekiti, Professor Abayomi Fashina, said that other results would be announced later today.

From the 16 Local Government results, Tinubi scored 308, 629 votes against the Atiku with 89, 456 votes.
