2024: I’ll turn Ondo into industrial hub — Akinfolarin

A Governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, Mayowa Akinfolarin, has reeled out his plans to make the state an industrial hub if elected as the next governor.
He also added that it was part of his mission and vision to ensure the high level of dissolution and disunity among the people of the State become a thing of the past by reconfiguring the political class and give hope to the people in the state.
To achieve this, he explained he would identify the available resources in the state in order to transform it.
He stated this during a meeting with the ward leaders of the party in Akoko Northeast and Akoko Northwest Local Government areas of the state ahead of the party primary election in April.
According to him “It is not just to copy what is being done in China or L’agos State. As a metropolitan state, what is being done there may not fit the what is being operated in Ondo.
“Baba Adekunle Ajasin, the former Governor of the state was able to transform the state to prosperous hub by establishing Ile-Oluji Cocoa Industry, Oluwa Glass among others because he identified the kind of resources available in the state then for the development of the state.
“There is high level of suspicion among the political gladiators in the state. I own it as a duty as someone to be the governor and give hope to the people of the state.”
Akinfolarin explained that he has what it takes to be the next governor of the state due to the experience garnered from various political, non-political offices he has occupied.
“For youths, we will create vocational centres with starting fund to practicalize the skills they have acquired.
“The construction of roads at the rural areas to farms for easy transportation of farm outputs will be given priority,” he stated.
Speaking, a member of the National Assembly, Timehin Adelegbe representing Owo/Ose federal constituency said Akinfolarin is the most qualified person among the governorship aspirants due to his vast experience.
He pointed out that he is a visionary leader who had contested seven times and won five times in election contests.
Ondo State, he noted needs experienced person like him who had occupied various positions like Deputy Speaker of the state and Directors of offices.
The chairman of the party in Akoko Northeast Local Government, Alhaji Soliu Mumini and other leaders assured of the support of members for him to become the candidate of the party.
