By Femi Atolagbe

Hammola FC came from 1-0 down to defeat Ase Ridyam FC 2-1 in the 2025/26 NationWide League One season at Lanre Leke Sports complex ,Ile Ogbo.

Afolabi Taiwo drew the first blood for ASE Ridyam FC in the 12th minute of the encounter putting the ball into the far corner of the net to put his side ahead.

Hammola FC responded swiftly but missed a golden chance to equalize after Sakiru struck the woodwork from the penalty spot in the 17th minute.

Undeterred, Hammola kept pushing and were rewarded in the 27th minute when Awojobi Tomiwa drew them level with a composed finish.

The momentum shifted firmly towards Hammola FC six minutes later when ASE Ridyem’s defender Waliu, under pressure, turned the ball into his own net to hand the lead to the home side.

Despite relentless pressure from both sides, there were no further goals after halftime. Awojobi Tomiwa was particularly lively for Hammola FC, tormenting the ASE Ridyem defense and coming agonisingly close on multiple occasions — twice hitting the woodwork and forcing several saves from ASE Ridyem FC goalkeeper, Ridwan Kazeem.

Hammola FC held on to their lead until the final whistle, sealing a hard-fought 2-1 victory and claiming their first three points of the campaign.

With this win, Hammola FC have made a strong statement of intent at the Osun Center, while ASE Ridyem FC will look to regroup quickly ahead of their next fixture.
