‘2025 budget will jumpstart Ondo’s economy’

Last week, the Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, took decisive steps to advance the state’s development agenda through significant milestones across governance, infrastructure, and welfare.
On Monday, Governor Aiyedatiwa signed the N698 billion “Budget of Recovery” into law. The budget, which allocates 62.06% (N433 billion) to capital expenditure and 37.94% (N265 billion) to recurrent expenditure, focuses on jumpstarting the state’s economy and initiating infrastructural renewal.
At the signing ceremony, attended by key stakeholders, the Governor reiterated his administration’s commitment to prioritising agriculture, education, healthcare, security, and social welfare, aligning with the “OUR EASE” mandate.
In a push to enhance road infrastructure, on Tuesday, the Governor approved the reconstruction, asphalt overlay, and rehabilitation of over 50 township roads across the 18 local government areas. This initiative complements ongoing road projects initiated in 2024.
Special Adviser on Infrastructure, Pastor Ayoade Babalola, highlighted the administration’s extraordinary commitment to transforming transportation systems and fostering economic growth through improved infrastructure.
In his new year address on Wednesday, Governor Aiyedatiwa congratulated the people of the State on witnessing the end of 2024 and expressed optimism for 2025.
He assured residents of robust infrastructural development under the 2025 “Budget of Recovery” and praised the support of traditional rulers, religious leaders, and civil servants.
Reflecting on achievements in security, workers’ welfare, and infrastructure, the Governor called for collective efforts to achieve the “OUR EASE” goals.
Meanwhile, on Thursday, during the 2025 first working day prayer meeting, Governor Aiyedatiwa promised an inclusive, transparent, and compassionate governance model.
He highlighted key achievements, including the implementation of a N73,000 minimum wage, timely salary payments, and advancements in education and justice.
The Governor also unveiled the “OUR EASE” blueprint, focusing on security, urban and rural development, sustainable agriculture, and technological growth.
Governor Aiyedatiwa reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to fostering a prosperous and inclusive Ondo State in 2025 and beyond.
