2025 World Health Day: Stakeholders tasked to prirotise health issues

As Ondo State joined the rest of the world to celebrate the 2025 World Health Day, the need to give priority to health issues by stakeholders has been stressed.

Permanent Secretary, Ondo State Primary Health Care Development Agency, Dr Francis Akanbiemu stated this while speaking with The Hope shortly after a health walk in commemoration of the day in Akure on Monday.

Represented by the Director, Disease Control and Immunization, Dr. Victor Adefesoye, he stated that it is crucial that government and other health related bodies and organisations invest in health impactful programmes to reduce maternal and child health.

According to him, such gesture goes a long way in improving the health care system and general well-being of the people.

He said; “The World Health Day comes up on April 7 annually. The theme for this year is ‘healthy beginning future hope.

“In Ondo State, we commemorate the day with a health walk which commenced around 7a.m and we covered 25km.

“Ondo State Primary Health Care Development Agency, The state Ministry of Health, Ondo State Hospitals’ Management Board, The World Health Organisation and other partners were on ground for the exercise.”

He expressed appreciation to stakeholders including health related partners for their major roles in ensuring a healthy Ondo State.
