29-year-old man docked for allegedly stealing 42-Inch TV, other items

An Iwaro-Oka Magistrates’ Court has ordered the remand of one Iyiola Damilola, for allegedly breaking into the apartment of a lady identified as Adekunle Oyindamola.
Iyiola was also alleged to have stolen a 42-inch Hisense television, a Djack sound system, and a 3kg gas cylinder belonging to Adekunle.
The charge reads: “That you, Iyiola Damilola ‘M’, sometime in September 2024, at about 8:00 pm at Medoline, Ibaka Quarters, Akungba, in the Akungba Akoko Magisterial District, did break into the dwelling house of Adekunle Fathia Oyindamola, to commit a felony, to wit stealing, and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 413 of the Criminal Code Cap 37 Vol. 1 Laws of Ondo State of Nigeria, 2006.”
“That you, Iyiola Damilola ‘M’, on the same date, time, and place in the aforementioned Magisterial District, did steal the following items: (i) a 42-inch Hisense television valued at One Hundred and Fifty-Five Thousand Naira (₦155,000.00), (ii) a Djack sound system valued at Thirty-Four Thousand Naira (₦34,000.00).
Other items are, 3kg gas cylinder valued at Twenty-Four Thousand Naira (₦24,000.00), all property of one Adekunle Fathia Oyindamola ‘F’, and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 383 and punishable under Section 390(9) of the Criminal Code Cap 37 Vol. 1 Laws of Ondo State of Nigeria, 2006.”
Counsel for the defendant, Prince T.M. Agbede, pleaded with the court to grant the defendant bail.
However, the Magistrate, Mr B.A. Ikusika, ordered that the defendant be remanded at the Correctional Centre and adjourned the case to January 15, 2025.
