The General Manager, Ondo State Sports Council (OSSC) Mr Henry Babatunde has commended the state’s contingent to the just concluded 2nd para games held on Abuja.

Babatunde said the competition was a successful outing for the state, despite their shot preparation for the national event.

He added that the athletes have done well considering the preparation of the state to the games, saying there was no closing camp for the athletes ,they were all coming from home to training which is not the norm in sports.

“All we do throughout was open camping where the athletes were coming to training from their homes and all these were occasioned by unforseen circumstances”.

Ondo State athletes had won six gold, eight silver and six bronze medals to end the competition on 7th position on the medals table.

He said: “With this performance, I want to say that we have done well, thank God that we have athletes that are naturally gifted with grace and skills”

“I appeal that we should be having deliberate plan for our competitions, if we are going to para games, National Sports Festival and National Youth Games, government should release fund timely so that we can have adequate preparations”.

“If we can have enough time to prepare for games ,I can assure you that we are going be on the first three on the medals table.”
