Men of the Ondo State Police Command have confirmed three dead and one injured in a ghastly motor accident which occurred along Liyetu area of Ondo town in Ondo State on Tuesday.

The Command, through its spokesperson, SP Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, confirmed the incident in a press statement.

The statement said: ” We received a distress call that a Nigerian Brewery Truck fully loaded with crates of Beer fell on a Golf 111 car with number plate BUR 852 TS .”

It further said that policemen have been deployed to the scene, as the deceased have been deposited in the morgue of the General Hospital in Ondo. While the injured passenger had been taken to Trauma Centre in Ondo town.

It was also gathered that the Police Motor Traffic Division of Enu-owa have moved to the scene to clear the traffic on the road.

He advised motoring public to make use of alternative routes, to avoid being trapped in the hold up while people whose loved ones ply the route should endeavor to check on them.

The Ondo CP has warned against over speeding on highways and advised that commuters should avoid over speeding or unnecessary overtaking which can lead to loss of lives and property while driving, as it is better to get there late, than not getting there.
