3 remanded over alleged robbery

Three men have been remanded by an Osogbo Magistrates’ Court over alleged armed robbery.
The accused persons are, Sola Adedayo, 34, Babatunde Adebayo, 39, and Olasanmi Folayan, 39.
The trio and others still at large allegedly committed the offence on March 16, 2019 at 9:30 pm at Dada Estate in Osogbo.
The prosecutor, Sgt. Kayode Adewoye, said the accused persons robbed one Idowu Abdulganiyu of his Lexus Jeep at gun point, and carted away his ATM cards, driver’s licence, iPhones and some documents.
Adewoye said that the accused persons, while armed with dangerous weapons, including guns, cutlasses and charms, were later arrested by the police.
The accused persons are facing a two-count charge of armed robbery and conspiracy.
The offence committed contravened Sections 1(1) (2) (a) (b) of the Robbery and Firearms (Special Provision) Act Cap R11 14 Vol. 11, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004.
The Magistrate, Mrs Rofiat Olayemi, ordered that the case file should be sent to the office of the Osun state Director of Public Prosecutions DPP for advice.
Olayemi adjourned the case till July 15, 2019 for mention.
