3 remanded over alleged robbery

Three suspects have been remanded by an Osogbo Magistrates’ Court over an alleged armed robbery.
The three suspects are, Bowofoluwa Oluwaseun, 24; Idowu Tope, 24 and Santos Chukwuemeka, 27.
The accused persons committed the offence on March 27, 2019 at about 10:00 pm, around Obelawo, Osogbo.
The trio are facing a three-count charge bothering on unlawful possession of arms, armed robbery and conspiracy.
The police prosecutor, Inspector Elisha Olusegun, told the court that the accused persons conspired to rob one Saheed Adeyeye of his Infinix Hot 6 and the sum of N17,000 cash, among other valuables.
Oluwasegun further informed the court that the accused persons were armed with dangerous weapons such as guns, charms and cutlasses, while they carried out the alleged assault.
The offences contravened sections 3(1) and 1(1)(2) (a)(b) of the Robbery and Firearms (Special Provision) Act Cap R11, Vol.14, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004.
The plea of the accused persons were not taken
The Magistrate, Mrs Olubunmi Ajanaku, who ordered the remanded of the three accused persons in Ilesa prison, held that the alleged offence was heinous.
The case was adjourned till June 19, 2019 for mention.
