Ondo State Police Command has called on the public to assist in identifying a child found wandering along Moferere Street in Akure.
The girl who could not mention her name was found wearing a white gown with a yellow rubber slippers in the neighborhood around 7:00pm on Monday.
According to the command’s spokeperson, Funmi Odunlami-Omisanya , the child was found by a good Samaritan, wandering unsupervised.
She said the girl was immediately taken to ‘B’ Division police station.
Police said the girl whose age ranges between two and three years, could not give any information about herself.
“The child is not able to speak, making it harder for them to find the child’s parents or guardians,”she said
The Hope Metro noted that the girl was in good health and showed no signs of abuse or neglect.
According to the police, anyone with information about the girl or her parent should contact JWC, ‘A’ Divison Akure .
