No fewer than 30,600 admission seekers sat for the entrance examination into the Unity secondary schools in Ondo State.

The Permanent Secretary, Ondo State Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Mrs Fọláṣadé Adegoke, disclosed this while monitoring the examination in Akure on Saturday.

Adegoke, who led officials of the Ministry to assess the examination at various centres in Akure, described the conduct as satisfactory.

“So far, so good, it shows the effect of good planning and preparation. The exam is going on as planned.

She noted that the Unity schools in the state had witnessed improved enrolment, especially with the enrolment of ‘day Students’ in three of the schools.

The PS said that measures were implemented to prevent examination malpractice among the candidates.

“They have customised answer sheets, and the sheet has the name of each candidate. This is done to minimise cheating and help result in collation. You know, it’s a computer that marks the scripts. It will make it faster, and results will come out on time,” she explained.

Adegoke said the examination result would be released within 24 hours after the conduct.
