32 Artillery Brigade Commander strengthens security collaboration in Ekiti State

As part of his ongoing familiarisation tour to security agencies within the 32 Artillery Brigade’s area of responsibility, the Commander of 32 Artillery Brigade, Nigerian Army (NA), Brigadier General Justin Ifeanyi, has visited key security agencies in Ekiti State.

The visit was aimed at strengthening ties and enhancing inter-agency collaboration.

This was contained in a statement released by the Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, 32 Artillery Brigade, Major Njoka Irabor.

During his visit to the Nigeria Police Headquarters in Ekiti State, Brigadier General Ifeanyi reaffirmed his commitment to improving the existing collaboration between the Army, the Police, and other security agencies.

He emphasised that enhanced synergy would restrict the activities of non-state actors and create a peaceful environment conducive to business and economic growth for the people of Ekiti State.

In response, the Commissioner of Police, Ekiti State Command, CP Joseph Eribo, expressed his appreciation for the visit.

He stressed that the Nigerian Army and the Police must operate as partners with a shared objective of maintaining peace and security.

CP Eribo expressed confidence that the visit would further strengthen the bond and cooperation between both organisations.

He assured the Brigade Commander of the Police’s commitment to enhanced collaboration in ensuring a safer and more secure environment for Nigerians.

Brigadier General Ifeanyi also visited the Department of State Services (DSS) in Ekiti State, where he assured the State Director of improved synergy in tackling security challenges in the region.

In his remarks, the DSS State Director, Mr Godwin Ejimofor Eze, emphasised the importance of a unified and formidable approach among security agencies to address complex security threats in both the state and the country.

He described the Brigade Commander’s visit as a clear demonstration of his dedication to fostering unity, cooperation, and synergy between the Nigerian Army and other security agencies.

He further expressed appreciation for the visit and assured the Commander of the DSS’s commitment to supporting the Brigade in its constitutional mandate to safeguard lives and property in the state.

Additionally, Brigadier General Ifeanyi paid a visit to the Commander of the Ekiti State Security Network Agency (Amotekun), Brigadier General Ibukun Adewa (Rtd).

He noted that the purpose of his visit was to foster strong collaboration and promote cooperation among key security stakeholders in the state to combat various security threats effectively.

Brigadier General Adewa (Rtd) acknowledged the vital role played by the 32 Artillery Brigade in ensuring the safety of lives and property in Ekiti State and pledged his commitment to continued collaboration with the Nigerian Army.

Highlights of the visit included the presentation of souvenirs, the signing of the visitors’ book, and group photographs.
