32-yr old man remanded for alleged stealing, home destruction

A 32-year old man, Obaaro Temitope, has been arraigned before an Iwaro-Oka Magistrate Court for allegedly damaging a house and stealing  property worth N600,000.

The defendant was brought before Magistrate Ikusika on three count charge bothering on stealing.

According to the prosecution, the defendant committed the offence on March 9, 2025, at about 4:30am at no. 2, Obayemi Street, Owalusi Quarters, lwaro-Oka Akoko, Ondo State.

The prosecutor, Inspector Kehinde Emmanuel, told the court that the defendant unlawfully damaged the ceilings, burglary, and removed some roofing sheets of a building as well stole a 4×6 feet mattress and a solar light device valued at N600,000.00. The properties are owned by. one Juliana Oladele.

He also alleged that the defendant conducted himself in a manner likely to cause breach of peace by using cutlass, sticks and stones to damage the house owned by Oladele.

The offences, he said, contravened Sections 451, 249 (d), 383 (1) of the Criminal, Code Cap. 37, Volume 1 Laws of Ondo State of Nigeria, 2006.

The defendant who has no legal representation pleaded not guilty to the counts charge when was read to him.

In his ruling, Magistrate B. A Ikusika ordered the remand of the defendant and adjourned the case to April 16, 2025.
