323 Artillery Regiment conducts range exercise in Akure

The 323 Artillery Regiment, Owena Cantonment, Akure, has announced plans to conduct a Range Classification Exercise from Wednesday to Thursday April 2 and 3, 2025.
The exercise will take place daily from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Military Range in Ita-Ogbolu, Akure North Local Government area of Ondo State.
It will be recalled that personnel of the 32 Artillery Brigade, Owena Cantonment, Akure, recently completed their own range exercise, which concluded last Wednesday as part of their routine training programme.
The upcoming exercise, a standard military training activity, aims to enhance the proficiency of officers and soldiers in weapon handling.
This was disclosed in a statement issued on March 31, 2025 by the Assistant Director of Army Public Relations, 32 Artillery Brigade, Major Njoka Irabor, and made available to The Hope
As part of the training, there will be troop movements and live firing exercises.
The public is therefore advised not to panic upon hearing gunfire within the area.
Residents, commuters, and farmers in the Ita-Ogbolu vicinity are strongly urged to steer clear of the range during the exercise to ensure their safety.
The military also called on the public and the media to help disseminate this information, including translations into local languages for wider awareness.
The statement further expressed gratitude to the public for their continued cooperation.
