No fewer than three thousand, 3,909 graduates in the field of education have written the Teachers’ Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN), examination in Adeyemi College of Education (ACE) Ondo.
The attainment of a TRCN certificate is a prerequisite for anyone aspiring to become a professional teacher in Nigeria.
Ondo, the Ondo State Coordinator of TRCN, Mr Adesina Akande, explained that the introduction of the Computer Based Test (CBT), for aspiring professional teachers, was aimed at preparing them for future classroom assignment as a teacher.
Akande also stated that the professional qualifying examination, which started in 2017, was meant to be undertaken by graduates, who have attained a first degree or postgraduate certificate in any field of education.
While lauding the Management of Adeyemi College of Education (ACE) Ondo for partnering with the TRCN in ensuring the success of the exercise, Akande explained that the benefits that would accrue to graduating students of the institution after writing the examination, is that they would be issued the TRCN certificate before they leave the school.
Reiterating the commitment of the TRCN to the professionalization of the teaching profession in Nigeria, Akande assured those who participated in the examination that a certificate would be issued to them once they passed the examination and paid the prescribed fee.
Also in his remarks, the Deputy Registrar, Exams and Records, ACE Ondo, Mr Peter Okunniga, who is also the Coordinator of the TRCN examination in the College, commended the council for the examination and assured the organization of the institution’s support.
Okunniga also lauded the participants for conducting themselves very well during the exercise.
