4 remanded over murder

Four men have been remanded in Ilesa prison by an Osogbo Magistrate court for an alledged murder.

The accused are; Ibrahim Morufu, 22, Kazzem Afeez, 20, Ismaila Toheeb, 20 and Isiaka Mariam, 18.

The accused persons was arraigned on a 4 count charges bothering on armed robbery, stealing and murder.

The prosecutor ASP Idoko John told the court that the accused persons committed the offense on July 21, 2019 around 11: 00pm, at Onward area , Osogbo.

Idoko said the accused person armed theirselves with gun, cutlasses and other dangerous weapon to rob one Amodu Owonikewu of his Bajaj Motorcycle which led to his death.

The offence contravened sections (1)(2)(a)(b), 6(b) of the Robbery and Firearms (Special Provision) Act Cap R11, Vol. 14, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004 and sections 319(1), 325 of the Criminal Code, Cap 34, Vol. 11, Laws of Osun, 2003.

The accused persons pleaded not guilty to the charges leveled against them.

The presiding Magistrate, Aishat Ajanaku did not take their plea but ordered that they be remanded in prison due to the magnitude of the offences they allegedly committed.

The case was adjourned till November 13, 2019 for advice.
