52 pensioners get N100m gratuity

Ekiti State Government has released another N100 million to 52 retirees as gratuities.
Distributing the cheques to the beneficiaries in Ado-Ekiti, the Executive Secretary of Pension Transitional Arrangement Department (PTAD), Mr. Adebiyi Afolabi, disclosed that the move was in fulfilment of the promise of the present administration in the state.
He advised them to be wary of fraud and not to be careless with their bank details like their Bank Verification Numbers (BVN) either with their family members or any other person.
Afolabi who affirmed that the State Government under the leadership of Governor Kayode Fayemi has been faithful in releasing the gratuity promptly, urged pensioners to ensure they always come for their cheques as soon as possible.
Earlier in his remarks at the occasion, the Chairman of the National Union of Pensioners, Ekiti State Chapter, Elder Ayo Ikumapayi commended the State Government for increasing the fund for gratuities from 10 million naira to 100 million naira monthly, the gesture saying has alleviated the suffering of the senior citizens.
He pledged the support of his members on the present administration in the state. Some of the pensioners who spoke at the occasion, thanked the governor for the gesture and stressed the need for their members for always support the Kayode Fayemi administration and ensure its success.
