60-year-old  docked for  breach of peace

A 60-year-old man, Ayodele Fadiran has been dragged before an Ile-Ife Magistrate Court over  damage to cable dishes and television set.

The accused person committed the offence on August 27, 2019 around 6:00 pm at Ariremako layout, Ile-Ife.

The Prosecutor, Inspector Sunday Osanyintuyi, told the court that the accused person conducted himself in a manner likely to cause breach of the peace by removing two cable dishes belonging to one Isola Idowu from a wall.

He added that accused person damaged one LG Plasma Television valued at N50,000 also belonging to Idowu.

The offences contravened Sections 249(D) and 451 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Osun, 2002.

The accused person, however, pleaded not guilty to the two-count charge of breach of public peace and damages.

The defence counsel, Mr Bolaji Adewale, prayed the court to grant bail to the accused person in the most liberal terms, promising that he would provide responsible sureties.

The presiding Magistrate, Olukunle Owolawi granted the accused person bail in the sum of N100,000 with one surety in like sum.

Owolawi added that the surety must reside within the court’s jurisdiction and must produce three recent passport photographs.

He, however adjourned till September 19, 2019 for hearing.
