61st Anniversary : 500 benefit NAF Institute’s free health care

By Tola Gbadamosi

No fewer than 500 residents of Ipetu-Ijesa in Osun State have benefitted from a free medical outreach organised by the Nigerian Air Force Institute of Safety, as part of activities commemorating its 61st anniversary.

The outreach, which provided essential healthcare services including laboratory tests, counselling, medications, eye care, prescription glasses, and mosquito nets, was described as a deliberate effort to reach the vulnerable and elderly members of the host community.

Commandant of the Institute, Group Captain Abdulkadiri Bello, said the gesture was in line with the anniversary theme and aimed at “touching the hearts and minds of the locals while providing scarce medical care.”

He emphasised the importance of civil-military cooperation, stating that similar humanitarian efforts would be extended to neighbouring communities in due course, as “a healthy community produces healthy minds.”

Bello urged the Ipetu-Ijesa community to take full advantage of the services rendered by the Institute, assuring that the Nigerian Air Force remains committed to promoting community well-being.

The Commandant also revealed that the anniversary celebration would span a week, featuring various events designed to strengthen civil-military relations and improve synergy in joint operational environments.
