No fewer than 67 graduates of Achievers University, Owo were inducted by the Qualified Medical Laboratory Scientists of Nigeria.

The  Seventh induction/ Oath taking into the  association was held at the Trinity Auditorium, of the institution.

The Pro Chancellor of the institution, Mr Bode Ayorinde, while admonishing the  successful graduates  said   they should  be good ambassadors of the citadel of learning and serve the nation with integrity.

” You have gained the first value which is knowledge in the school, the second and the third value which is leadership and integrity is what you should deliver outside there”, he said.

Ayorinde,  who was represented by the  Vice Chancellor, Prof Tunji Ibiyemi, said the aim  and objectives of the institution is to become the best university in Africa and one of the best in the world.

“Professionals have extra miles to go in their profession, hence the need to sacrifice by serving their community with integrity”, he stated.

He rejoiced with the parents and appreciated them  for trusting  the school by bringing their children and ward to learn at the institution.

In his lecture titled” The Role of Medical Laboratory Science in Health Care Delivery” the guest lecturer, Prof G .  Okogun  called on Nigerians to stop depending on foreign community for help as medical laboratory scientists can develop vaccine only if given the chance and the enabling environment.

He described medical laboratory science as the heart  of healthcare,  noting that  everyone will use the service of  a medical lab scientist more than once in a lifetime.

Okogun said the medical lab scientist plays a pivotal role in the promotion, curative and, preventive aspects of the nations healthcare delivery system, adding that without a reliable medical  laboratory services, the source of a disease may not be identified correctly, resistance to essential drugs may develop and  continue to spread among others.

While charging the inductees, he said they should  follow the ethics of the profession by respecting their colleagues and work in harmony with them, be loyal to the profession, be sympathetic and considerate to  those who are  sick and their relations, promote health care and should never take from their place of work what does not belong to them.

Also   speaking, the overall best inductee, Miss Moronkeji Iyanuoluwa thanked the school, saying that without the commendable  effort of the university management , they would  not  have been  found worthy either in character or in learning.

Administration of oath  were performed by the inductees and  licenses were given to  them.
