As the 6th edition of the National Youth Games (NYG) enters day four, Ondo State has clinched fifth position on the log table with five Gold, four Silver and Nine Bronze medals.
Team Delta and Edo State maintained first and second, while FCT and Bayelsa State occupied third and fourth positions
Odunayo Hellen Babalola, Uche Asonye, won their gold medals in Judo 44KG and 36KG male and female, Tunmininu Braitwaite also clinched her gold in Artistics Gymnastics Vault, while Victoria Samuel and Daugba Ediseimokumo added two gold in para-Kayak.
Tunmininu Braitwaite added silvers to the state’s medals haul in Gymnastics best all round event, while Tolu Braitwaite added a bronze in Balance Beam before the state team coasted home a silver in female team event.
Which comprised, Tunmininu Braitwaite, Taye Salami, and Tolu Braitwaite.
While six out of the state’s nine bronze medals came from Swimming , Judo got one and gymnastics two.
The team Ondo are still slugging it out in Table Tennis, Badminton, Boxing, Squash, Tennis, Para Table Tennis as at the time of filling this
