I welcome us all to this Week’s Edition. I pray that God opens up our Spirit man to understand His words this day in Jesus name. In this Edition, we shall be looking at the 6th Pillar of Wisdom.
Pillar 6 : ACCOUNTABILITY
“Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety” Proverbs 11:13
“Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser: teach a just man, and he will increase in learning.” Proverbs 9:9
To excel in life and reach the top in life and ministry, you must learn the wisdom of accountability
What is Accountability?
The Random House College Dictionary defines Accountability as
(1) Subject to the obligation to report,explain, or justify somethings; responsible, answerable
(2) Capable of being explained, explicable
“Accountability is trusting your life to a few carefully selected, loyal confidants who love you. Confidants who have the right to examine, question, appraise, and give counsel. Like ropes for a mountain climber, these people hold your life in check and keep you from slipping preciously to destruction.”Charles R. Swindoll
Bible says where no counsel is, the people fall Accountability will prevent you form falling and you never lack inspiration. When someone can hold us responsible for our actions, we become conscious of our acts. The problem with many people today is that we have many who are not accountable to anyone. No one can talk to them, no one can question their actions as to how they are running their so called lives. I think the issue of accountability must be taken seriously by all of us who desire something great of our lives.
Most great people that I have had the opportunity to meet have mastered the wisdom of accountability. I don’t know how you feel, but i have chosen to be accountable to some people. Accountability is done in love and out of a caring relationship. I am aware you cannot be accountable to just anyone or anybody. Every believer must be accountable to his pastor who keep watch over his soul.
“Obey your leaders, and submit to them, for they keep watch over your souls as those who will give an account. Let them do this with joy and not with grief, for this would be unprofitable for you.” Heb. 13:17
Because you don’t want your pastor to know how much you are making in your business, you are running from accountability, this is lack of wisdom Your tithe is your responsibility, and if you decide to eat your tithe, it is your business
FIVE WISDOM OF ACCOUNTABILITY
(1) Access to the knowledge and wisdom of your confidant;
“Iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.” Proverbs 27:17 (NIV)
(2) Accessibility to correction when you missed it;
“The teaching of the wise is a fountain of life, to turn aside from the snare of death,” Proverbs 13:14 (NIV)
(3) You are less likely to fall;
“Where no counsel is, the people fall………” Proverb 11:19
(4) Makes it difficult for us to get away with sinful and unwise actions.
“Faithful are the wounds of a friends, but deceitful are the kisses of an enemy”
(5) We see beyond our own perspective;
“Iron sharpens iron, So one man Sharpens another..” Proverbs 27:17 (NIV)
The life in Christ will empower you and quicken your sensitivity. This is necessary if you will not choose wrongly. You can’t afford to be accountable to someone who is afraid of your greatness. Such will do everything possible to keep you in check. You, therefore need to give your life to Christ Jesus if you have not done so. When HE comes into your life, He comes with the Holy Ghost in a measure. Now if you want more of Him, you must give yourself to the study of the Word, Prayers and Fellowship.
It gives me great Pleasure to invite you to Worship God with us on Sundays at 9am at ChristLike Assembly opp Akure South LG Secretariat ilesa rd Akure Ondo State. I am confident that you will surely enjoy God’s Presence. Till we meet again, I pray that this month will not end your journey of life. Shalom.
