72-yr- old remanded over fake EFCC recruitment exercise

A septuagenarian, Kehinde Adeyemi, has been arraigned before an Iwaro-Oka Magistrates’ Court for unlawfully obtaining money from one Daniel Ayinde, under the pretense of facilitating USA EFCC recruitment slot.
The police arraigned the defendant before Magistrate B.A Ikusika, for fraud.
According to the prosecution, the offences were committed around 10:13am and 7:27pm on March 24, 2025 and at about 1:43pm on March 27,2025, at Araromi Quarters, Akungba Akoko, in the Akungba Akoko Magisterial District.
The Prosecutor, Inspector Boboye Olasunkanmi sought for a short adjournment, informing the court that the defendant had committed a similar crime somewhere.
The offences contravene Section 419 of the Criminal Code Cap 37 Vol.1 Laws of Ondo State of Nigeria, 2006.
Counsel for the defendant, Prince T.M Agbede, pleaded with the court to grant the defendant bail on liberal terms.
However, Magistrate Ikusika ordered the remand of Adeyemi and adjourned the case till May 15, 2025.
