8th NYG: Be good ambassadors, Commissioner charges team Ondo
Ondo state commissioner Youth and Sports Development, Mr Saka Yusuf Ogunleye has charged athletes that will represent the state at this year’s National Youth Games (NYG) to be good ambassadors of the State.
Yusuf – Ogunleye stated this
while addressing the state contingent to the 8th youth games in Asaba, saying their welfare will be prioritized.
He said: ” I believe you are well prepared for the event in Asaba, please go there and exhibit your talent and win medals , remember to be good ambassadors of our Sunshine State”.
He further charged the athletes to be more serious, stating that the mood of competition varies from training and eliminations.
” God will go with you , be with you during your stay and will lead you back home safe with medals “
The Commissioner commended coaches and other officials for giving their best despite some challenges.
He said the Almighty rewards and he will sure reward all adequately.
” I will be in Asaba physically to represent Mr Governor in our own way we shall motivate you to victory “
General manager , Ondo state sports Council, Sunday Fagite thanked the commissioner for his support at all times, saying the athletes will surely deliver at the games.
Other top management staff of the council present are the Director of coaching , Ayo Salami Director Finance and Administration , Olabimi Adeiyi , Director statistics, Omotayo Lebi .
Others are , Vice chairman Almagamated Union , Osifo Moses , Chairman coaches Association, Ondo state sports Council, Joshua Ogunbiyi among others
Ondo state will compete in 14 sports at the National Youths Games in Asaba , Delta state capital.
