9ja Teqball Challenger: Odatiwa Ambassador, Akintunde clinches Gold, Silver

‘Odatiwa’ Ambassador, Ololade Akintunde, shone like a star at the just-concluded 9ja Teqball Challenger Series held in Plateau State.

Akintunde secured a gold medal in the mixed doubles category and a silver medal in the singles event at the competition sponsored by the Plateau State Government.

She claimed the precious shield alongside her partner, Victor Oyemade, in the mixed doubles and clinched silver in the singles event.

The ‘Odatiwa’ Ambassador was sponsored to the 9ja Teqball Challenger by the Ondo State Teqball Association, led by its chairman ,Seun Betiku, and People United By Sports (PUBS).

This marked the third competition they have sponsored for Teqball players from the state.

The Chairman and his organisation previously sponsored Ondo State Teqball players to competitions in Delta, Abia, and Plateau States.

In a chat with Sporting Hope, Ololade Akintunde expressed gratitude for her achievements at the competition.

She thanked God for her success and appreciated the Chairman of the Teqball Association and PUBS for believing in her and investing a substantial amount of money in her participation.

She said, “I thank PUBS for their moral and financial support.

” I return all the glory to God Almighty that I did not let them down.”

She also described her partner, Victor Oyemade, as a great Teqball player who provided tremendous support during the competition.

“Victor Oyemade is a great partner.”

“He encouraged me whenever it seemed all hope was lost. I would love to partner with him again,” she said.

Ondo State Teqball Association Chairman, Seun Betiku, congratulated ‘Odatiwa’ Ambassador Akintunde and her partner, Victor Oyemade, for making the state proud.

Betiku urged Akintunde to remain focused and continue her training to harness her full potential.

“Akintunde is an excellent Teqball player. She surprised everyone during her debut a few years ago in Delta State, where she won a bronze medal.

She repeated the feat in her second competition in Abia State, also clinching a bronze medal.

“Today, we are celebrating her gold and silver medals in two events,” he said.

Betiku further promised continued support for Teqball in Ondo State, adding that the association, inaugurated and recognised by the National Teqball Association, will soon embark on more awareness campaigns to promote the sport in the state.
