By Owolola Adebola
As Mrs. Pamela Olabisi John marks her 62nd birthday on May 14, 2025, friends, family, and admirers from near and far gather to celebrate a woman whose life has been a glowing example of grace, generosity, and unwavering service to others.
Though modest in its planning, the celebration drew an impressive array of guests—captains of industry, community leaders, and everyday people whose lives Pamela has deeply touched. A retired nurse, devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Pamela’s legacy reaches far beyond the walls of her profession. She is a beacon of compassion, a giver without boundaries, and a woman whose influence continues to ripple across generations and communities.
Her younger brother, Barrister Kayode Orekoya—fondly known as Kay—captured the essence of Pamela’s impact in his heartfelt tribute.
“My sister is a frontline philanthropist,” he said. “She gives without hesitation or discrimination. Tribe, race, or status mean nothing to her when it comes to lifting others. She is a natural uplifter of people, and I personally call her ‘General.’”
He went on to describe her as a woman of grace, strength, and wisdom. “She leads with purpose. She fears God, and she lives with humility. From community development projects to youth mentorship, Pamela has always walked the path of service. Her brilliance is matched only by her heart.”
Indeed, one of Pamela’s greatest passions lies in education and youth empowerment. Through scholarships, mentorship programs, and personal encouragement, she has helped countless young people find a path forward—often where none seemed to exist.
Despite her recent retirement from nursing, Pamela remains forward-looking and industrious. She is already laying the groundwork for a new venture: Grand GiGi-01, a poultry business she intends to establish in Nigeria. The name alone reflects the love she has for family and her entrepreneurial spirit.
Throughout the celebration, emotional tributes flowed freely. Mr. Babalola Osibodu and his wife, Nicole, praised Pamela as “a woman of deep integrity and endless kindness.” Her elder sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Olalude, and senior sister, Mrs. Nicole Osibodu, echoed these sentiments, painting a picture of a woman who has lived her life with dignity, humility, and determination.
One speaker, who chose to remain anonymous, offered perhaps the most poignant words of the day:
“Pamela, your life is an open book—written in the ink of compassion, excellence, and love for humanity. May this birthday bring you the joy you’ve so freely given to others.”
In every room she enters, Pamela radiates elegance and warmth. She is more than a social presence; she is a woman of substance—a unifier, a bridge-builder, and a quiet force for good. Her ability to bring people together, regardless of background, speaks to the depth of her empathy and the strength of her character.
As the day’s celebration wound down—amid joyful toasts and plentiful meals—what remained in the hearts of all was a deep sense of admiration. Pamela Olabisi John is a woman who has given much and asked for little. Her life, marked by service and love, continues to shine as a testament to what it means to live with purpose.
In her brief closing remarks, Pamela herself offered a moment of quiet reflection:
“This day is not just about celebration. It’s a time for gratitude—a moment to give thanks and praise to God.”
And so, at 62, Pamela stands tall—not just as a beloved matriarch, but as a woman whose life story continues to inspire.
