A tale of the gigolo and the imbecile

Among all the skirtchasers in our neighbourhood, uncle Boye is without any contest the most popular among them all. He is a very handsome, charming, accommodating chap although jobless and an unrepentant flirt.

He is however undeterred by his jobless situation. He tries to get by through sponging off his rich girlfriends. He is a perfect example of what the English would call a gigolo; a man paid to be in a sexual relationship.

This is because in all his flings, he had no financial aid to offer to those ladies. It was the ladies who gave him gifts and money. He was optimistic that his future would be bright as soon as he was able to get a good job.

However, none of the relationships he had last for long because he does not have a single faithful bone in his structure. The ladies moved on after a while when they could no longer cope with his two timing.

He is as restless as a male dog. Like a male dog that would find means of leaving its owners house in search of a bitch, Boye could not be caged in any relationship no matter how much he professed to love his current girlfriend. He would still stray whenever any other damsel catches his fancy.

Girls fell over themselves to be close to him. He is a charming devil. And ladies; especially the impressionable ones could not ignore his charm. He would sleep with them and them contraceptive drugs. And for any of them that stubbornly got pregnant, they were taken to the abortionist.

Young girls were drawn to him like moths to flame despite their mother’s warning that they would come to no good in a relationship with him.

He went through girls like underwear yet he was never satisfied. Residents watching him get embroiled in one drama and scandal after the other have decided that probably his mother was careless with his foreskin when he was circumcised at birth and that a dog took off with it.

Many believed that he could not do without sleeping with a woman in a day. Yet how would his neighbours not assume this? He lived in a boys quarter which was not fenced and sometimes residents hear disturbing noises from his room or bathroom whenever he had company.

It was scandalous. Most times, he and his lover would do this in the day time. Residents often wondered whether they were oblivious of the spectacle they made of themselves or simply that they were unaware that people could hear them.

His landlord had taken him to task over his attitude several times. He would be apologetic and promise to change. However, he never changed until when he did the unthinkable. Mothers do not allow their children to go to the building for fear of undue exposure.

It must be the devil that pushed Boye to the extreme when he started to “play” his neighbours’s 14 year old Imbecile daughter, Victoria.

Victoria’s mother is a petty trader who usually leaves her Imbecile daughter at home because as she grew, she became difficult to handle at the stall. She would pass feces on her on her body if her mother did not attend to her on time.

Her mood swings sometimes made her violent as she would began to bawl loudly and throw things at anyone in her vicinity. These incidences made her mother to lose customers and she had no choice but to leave her at home.

On the other hand, Boye had become unpopular. Girls were no longer as enamored of him as they were before.

Hence, his opportunities of having his enjoyable pastime became few and far in between. He became bored and being an idle man, the devil soon found work for him.

His attention now fell on the available female in his vicinity; Victoria. He began by making overtures to her such as buying her sweets and soon he was able to lure her inside the room.

No one suspected any foul play when sometimes Victoria would be knocking on Boye’s door demanding entrance. She was obviously having some tender feelings for him and hence wanted to be with her new “playmate”.

Everyone including her mother thought she was being her usual troublesome self by her special interest in Boye until the cat was let out of the bag.

On the fateful day, the mother came home to relieve herself as she was feeling pressed. By then, Boye who did not want her coming to his room had decided to be visiting her in their apartment.

This proved to be a great mistake as the woman came in to the apartment and met him with Victoria being bounced on his laps naked.

All hell was let loose as she screamed in outrage. Boye pushed Victoria away and tried to bolt with the pulled down shorts flapping about his legs. She held on to him and shouted for help which drew the attention of the tenants in the main building.

It took the landlord powerful mediating skills before he could persuade the woman not to report the case at the police station. He pleaded with her that the scandal would be too much for her and her daughter and the whole household at large.

However, he had no soft words for Boye as he ordered his sons to his properties out of the room without any recourse to civil procedures of eviction.

As he left, mothers were able to leave a sigh of relief that their girls would be safe again.
