Fixing key sectors amid  political engagements

By Adedotun Ajayi

Ondo State Governor, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, maintained a steady pace of leadership last week, combining strategic political engagements with decisive actions to reposition key sectors in the state.

Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, on Monday, joined other governors under the banner of the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF) in Kaduna for a courtesy visit to former President Muhammadu Buhari.

Led by the chairman of the Forum and Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma, the visit was a rescheduled special Eid Luncheon with the former President.

The engagement served as an opportunity for party leaders to reconnect with the former President, exchange ideas, and reinforce party unity ahead of future political strategies.

Governor Aiyedatiwa’s participation stressed his active involvement in national political discourse and alignment with party structures at the federal level.

Also on Wednesday, Governor Aiyedatiwa approved the dissolution of the management board of the Ondo State Football Agency (ODSFA).

The decision affected the Executive Chairman, Mr. Dele Ologun, and other board members who were directed to hand over government property in their possession to the agency’s accounting officer.

To ensure continued operation and immediate oversight, the governor approved a new caretaker committee to manage Sunshine Stars Football Club.

The committee is led by Mr. Tokunbo Akinyelure as Team Manager and Welfare Officer, with other members assigned roles across technical and administrative areas.

The governor directed the committee to report directly to his office and tasked them with reviving the club’s fortunes and restoring pride to one of the State’s most prominent sports teams.

Speaking through his Chief Press Secretary, Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan, Governor Aiyedatiwa praised the peaceful and orderly transition that returned Adegbite for a second term.

He commended the maturity and unity exhibited by journalists in the State, describing the process as a testament to the union’s commitment to professionalism and internal democracy.
