The Acting Vice Chancellor of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, Professor Olugbenga Ige has advised all alumni to be builders and worthy ambassadors of the Institution and to strive to contribute meaningfully to the growth and development of their alma mata.

He gave the advice recently, while receiving members of the Council of Ex-Presidents of Student Union Executives who paid him a courtesy call in his office.

While appreciating  leaders of the alumni for creating a forum that keeps them together years after their graduation, Prof. Ige encouraged them to serve as role models and mentors to students of the institution.

In his words, “All over the world, former students are strong pillars of financial support to their alma mata. While we appreciate the efforts of our Alumni, we will also want your group to contribute to the growth of the University whose certificate you carry. Your impact must be felt so that you will be a model for other students to emulate.”

Speaking earlier, the first President of the Student Union in AAUA (1999-2003), Alaba Ojurayo, lauded the improvements and growth of the campus. He said it is heartwarming that the University has witnessed tremendous growth and expansion in recent years.

He said they came to congratulate the Acting Vice Chancellor on his appointment and to commend the Management of the university for the peaceful conduct of the SUG election that was held recently. He said it was clear to all that students were allowed to vote their conscience without any interference.
