In a bid to implement the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) earlier signed between Adekunle Ajasin University Akungba Akoko,   and the Nigerian Export Promotion Council, (NEPC), representatives of the two institutions have met to put finishing touches to modalities for executing it.

AAUA and NEPC had signed the MoU in December 2017 at the Headquarters of  NEPC in Abuja, FCT.

At its inaugural implementation meeting held in Akungba recently the Chairman and Vice Chancellor, AAUA, Prof. Igbekele Ajibefun, harped on the significance of the MoU.

In his opening address, he expressed delight at the seriousness with which the NEPC team handled the MoU. He also thanked the Council for the special interest it has shown in AAUA out of over a hundred public universities in the country.

He said” We want to thank you for your interest in our University. We appreciate the Executive Director, Mr. Awolowo, and the NEPC for agreeing to partner with us. We see NEPC as one of the organizations that can be of benefit to us if we partner with them. Thus, we are not in doubt that this MoU will produce great dividends to both parties. And one of the steps to achieving it is this meeting which will help us come up with an implementation plan.”

“Our University is one that is open to good partnership and opportunities, both locally and internationally. Hence, we see NEPC as a worthy partner and we appreciate the level of seriousness the institution has displayed so far in the course of our working relationship.”

The leader of the NEPC delegation and Deputy Director (Product Development Department) of the organisation, Mr. Samuel Oyeyipo, in his goodwill message appreciated the University for giving the NEPC the impetus to come for the meeting. He also lauded the University for putting the MoU on the front burner.

The MoU implementation meeting was held between Wednesday 24th and Friday 26th October, 2018.
