The newly-sworn-in President of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities, Cooperative Multipurpose Society of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, Mr. Babatope Fagbolagun, has promised to make the operations of the society more dynamic without compromising its extant laws.

Mr. Fagbolagun made the promise in his Acceptance Speech after taken the Oath of Office alongside other elected members of the Executive Committee during the Annual General Meeting of Society on Thursday last week.

The President, however, sought the cooperation of all cooperators in order for the Executive Committee to achieve the pledge.

Mr. Fagbolagun said, “We are very much aware of the major pain of our members for not being able to access loans as and when due as a result of the irregular release of our monthly deductions. This and other challenges require our cooperation and understanding.

“And since you have given us your mandate to take decisions on the functions of the society in line with the rules and regulations guiding the operations of the society, we would ensure that the society is more functional with new ideas and creativities, as well as improve on the achievements of the out-gone executives.

“Accessing loans by members would be more dynamic without compromising the extant policy of accessing such loans. Distinguished cooperators, I would like to seek your support and cooperation in order to take our dear cooperative society to an enviable height.”

He thanked the University Management for its support and pleaded to it not to rest on its oars “in terms of prompt release of our deductions which is the life-line of the society.”

Earlier, the Representative of the Ondo State Cooperative Services, Mrs. Bosede Ajayi, who administered the Oath of Office on the new Executive Committee, had advised the new officers to improve on the achievements of the out-gone officers, and to run the society in tandem with its existing laws.

Other members of the new Executive Committee are Mrs. Evelyn Yeiya (Vice President); Mr. Lanre Kola-Ajibade (Treasurer); Mr. ‘Seyi Oluwalade (General Secretary); Mr. Wilson Adepiti (Financial Secretary); and Mrs. Morenike Lawal (Ex-officio).
