AAUA student murder: Police parade four suspects

The Ondo State Police Command has paraded a 21-year-old final year student of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, AAUA, Olubodun Sanni, for allegedly killing a fellow female student, Ifeoluwa Adekunle, in her room off campus.

Parading the suspects alongside three others before newsmen in Akure, the State Commissioner of Police, Abayomi Oladipo said Sanni stabbed the female student to death and stole her phone.

 CP Oladipo, held a maiden press briefing by a week after assuming duty in the state.

One of the suspects paraded at the briefing is a 21-year-old student of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, Olubodun Sanni, who allegedly stabbed a fellow student to death.

The deceased, a 300-level student, was found dead in her room on February 2, 2024.

The suspect, who stole the phone of the deceased after killing her, was tracked by the police.

The police boss said the recovered phone led to further questioning of the suspect, who gave details of what happened in his confessional statement.

Also paraded was one Umar Ahmed, who allegedly killed a colleague and went away with his motorcycle.

On the case of the abduction in Akunnu-Akoko, the Police Commissioner said efforts are ongoing to secure the release of the victims.

The new police boss seeks cooperation from other security agencies and the people in tackling criminal activities in the state.
